How lucky are we that we moved in next door to neighbors who own a sailboat....and are gracious enough to invite us to occasionally tag along? We spent a beautiful day on the water with our friends Robin and Jim. Although the boys spent most of the day in the cabin reading and playing games, they managed to have some fun up on deck as well. We certainly had no trouble enjoying ourselves...fresh salt air, cool sea breeze, good wine and good friends.....it doesn't get much better than that!

Glorious Summer Days!
Summer in Washington is finally here! Now we know why people put up with all of the grey, drizzly days....it is truly nirvana here right now! Since it stays light until about 10 pm, there is lots of time to take advantage of the perfect weather. We try to spend as many waking hours outside as possible. Sunday we packed a picnic lunch, did some hiking and rock skipping, and then everyone (even the dog) got to end the glorious day with ice cream and a dazzling sunset from our front porch. I am now quite certain that this is what heaven must look like!
Seattle Sights

One of our favorite ways to spend a sunny afternoon is to walk around Seattle's Pike Place Market. Full of fresh flowers, fresh produce, fresh fish and arts and crafts, there's something for everyone. It's located in the heart of downtown, so after enjoying a lunch of fresh fruit and cheese, you can walk to one of the many museums there. A little bit of a drive away is a famous local attraction...the "troll" who lives under the bridge. The boys enjoyed exploring all of his innermost details!!
